marstall Bergwiesen-Mash is the cereal-free and low sugar alternative to traditional mash. Its extremely easily digestible recipe is kind to the gut, promotes digestion and stimulates the appetite - without cereals, molasses or artificial sugars, bran or flavourings and without added vitamins and minerals.
Rich Allgäu grasses, beneficial herbs and ingredients proven to aid digestion such as linseed, brewer’s grains and brewer‘s yeast help to keep the stomach and gut healthy.

marstall Bergwiesen-Mash combines the positive properties of traditional warm cereal mash with a completely cereal-free and therefore reduced starch recipe.
Gently warm-air dried and finely chopped Allgäu grass forms the basis. This is rich in natural essentials such as secondary plant materials. It provides crude fibre with prebiotic properties that help to stabilise gut flora. The Previta fibres keep insulin levels low, aiding the metabolism and supporting digestion.
Linseed meal extract and yellow-gold linseeds produce essential mucus that creates a protective film over the sensitive mucous membranes in the gut and has a positive effect on digestion as a soluble fibre. Furthermore, its high levels of protein and fats add conditioning nutrients and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids to the mash.
Brewer’s grains and brewer‘s yeast have also been proven to have a positive effect on gut flora and a rich in essential vital elements. Beneficial and aromatic herbs and apple pulp, rich in dietary fibre and flavour, complete the recipe.

Preparation

Depending on the breed and weight of your horse: mix approx. 1.0 to 2.0 litres of marstall Bergwiesen-Mash with 1.5 times the quantity (approx. 1.5 to 3.0 litres) of hot water (no need to boil). Leave to soak for around 15 to 20 minutes before feeding, then stir well and feed when lukewarm (check the temperature).
For a summer variant, use the same quantity of marstall Bergwiesen-Mash, but mix with cold water, leave to soak for around 20 minutes and stir well.
Always prepare marstall Bergwiesen-Mash fresh. If the horse does not finish the feed, remove any remaining residue from the trough on grounds of hygiene. marstall Bergwiesen-Mash is also suitable for older animals.

Feeding advice
Our recommendations assume a roughage intake (hay) of 1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight per day.
For more than 150 g per 100 kg body weight, please divide the feed into at least 2 feeds. It can also be given over a long period of time or until digestion has improved. marstall Bergwiesen-Mash does not contain any added vitamins and minerals so that it can be added to each ration individually. If it is fed as the sole concentrate for a longer period of time, we recommend adding a mineral feed such as marstall Force.
