Fohlen-Aktiv
- from the 2nd week of life
- metabolism-friendly growing
- supports digestion
- essential amino acids
- cereal-free & gentle on the stomach
marstall Fohlen-Aktiv is a cereal-free, concentrated and very tasty muesli that provides foals with optimum nutrition from the second week of life. It contains very little starch and is easily digestible. It therefore guarantees - especially in combination with a cereal-free feed for the mare - metabolism-friendly growth right from the start.
Fohlen-Aktiv is the innovative cereal-free starter feed that is gentle on the metabolism and provides the foal with the best possible nourishment.
Thanks to organic trace elements and the pure* amino acids lysine, methionine and threonine, Fohlen-Aktiv promotes optimised nutrient utilisation and improved nutrient absorption. It supports the immune system and is easy on the stomach, especially during stressful times such as foal shows, weaning and feed changes in autumn and spring. The special composition of small intestine-digestible amino acids balances out the low content in typical horse hay as re-quired. At the same time, the balanced supply of vitamins, minerals and trace elements sup-ports the healthy development of the joints and skeleton.
As the cereal-free recipe contains very little starch, Fohlen-Aktiv stimulates the release of in-sulin very little. This enables metabolism-friendly growth without unnecessary impairment of cartilage maturation, thyroid function and insulin sensitivity. This puts less strain on the foal's entire organism.

Feeding advice
If necessary, the feed quantities above can be fed in one meal.
Our recommendations assume a forage intake (hay) of 1.5–2 kg per 100 kg live weight per day. For foals, hay should be from the 1st cutting, if possible.

The fundamental studies on foal rearing conducted by the LMU Munich and supported by marstall have been implemented in the current recommendations of the GfE (2014). One of the studies showed that the targeted supply of certain essential amino acids had significant positive effects on growth and bone formation. In addition, the liver and kidney burden was lower than with increased soya feeding (Krumbiegel, 2011). The amino acid mixture is de-signed according to these results.
